Answers about how the app actually behaves — what things cost, what is kept, and what to do when it is not working the way you expected.
If you need help right now
The app is not an emergency service and is not monitored in real time. If you are in danger or thinking of harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or one of the crisis lines below — they are free, confidential and open 24/7.

Getting started
Do I have to want to quit?
No. You set the goal — drink less, take a break, stop altogether, or nothing at all while you work out what you want. You can change it whenever, and there is no target you are failing against in the meantime.
How much do I need to log for this to work?
Less than you would think. A drink takes seconds to log, and a daily check-in takes about two minutes.
Some views do need a little history before they can say anything useful: Felt Benefits needs at least three check-ins, and your first weekly summary needs check-ins on a few separate days. Until then they tell you what is still missing rather than showing an empty chart.
What is the Pause tab?
It is the Urge Toolkit — the screen to open when you want a drink and would rather not act on it straight away. Breathe, Ride it out, Ground yourself, Hear my why, Distract me and Drink water, plus crisis support underneath them.
What happens if I have a bad night?
Nothing resets. There is no streak to break and no counter that sends you back to day one. Log it if you want to — the pattern it reveals is the part that helps.
Lora and coaching
What is Lora, exactly?
An AI coaching companion you talk to out loud. She knows your triggers, your goal and the reason you started, so conversations carry over instead of starting from scratch.
She is not a therapist, doctor or clinician, and she can get things wrong — the app says so on screen. For anything affecting your health, speak to a qualified professional.
Tapping “Talk with Lora” starts a call immediately — is that meant to happen?
Yes. The button opens voice coaching and begins connecting straight away, so you are not tapping twice at a moment when that matters. Tap the microphone to stop.
A call shorter than three seconds is not charged at all.
How are coaching credits used up?
Coaching draws on credits roughly in proportion to how long you talk — about one credit to start a call and a little under six for each minute after that. When you hang up the app tells you what the call cost.
Premium includes 1,300 credits a month. If you need more, credit packs of 250, 750 and 1,500 are available and are consumed as you use them.
What does “higher than usual” usage mean?
Premium coaching is generous but not unlimited — fair-use bands keep the service available for everyone. Staying inside your monthly credits is the normal band; going beyond it is flagged as higher than usual. Current limits are shown in the app.
Can I use the app without talking to Lora at all?
Yes. Logging, check-ins, progress, the Urge Toolkit, your saved “why” and the crisis resources all work without her.
Your data
Who can see what I log?
You and your coach. There is no feed, no followers and nothing shared by default. You can invite one trusted person for accountability, and remove them again — until you do, nobody else is looking.
Can I get a copy of my data?
There is no self-serve export in the app. Depending on where you live you have the right to a copy of your data, and you can request one by contacting us — we will handle it.
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Delete Account. It is not reversible, and it does not cancel an active subscription — do that in your app store separately.
The delete-account page sets out exactly what is removed and what is kept in anonymised form for financial record-keeping.
Is my data sold or used for ads?
No. Your logs and reflections are not sold, and health data is never used for advertising or to build advertising profiles. The business model is the subscription.
The app itself
Can I stop other people opening the app?
Yes. Profile → App Lock requires your fingerprint or device unlock every time the app opens, even when the phone is already unlocked. You choose when it re-locks: immediately, or after 30 seconds, a minute or five minutes in the background.
Your biometric data never leaves your device.
Will it send me notifications?
Only if you allow them, and they are reminders you have opted into — a nudge before a high-risk window, or a prompt to check in. You can turn them off in Profile at any time.
Does it work offline?
Partly. The crisis resources and your saved “why” are designed to work without a connection. Coaching, syncing and insights need one.
Still stuck?
If none of the above covers it — or you cannot get into your account — get in touch and a person will pick it up.
